About the Tacoma Scots Pipe Band

Formed in 1971 by Pipe Major William (Bill) Micenko, the Tacoma Scots bring the thrilling sound of the Great Highland Bagpipe and the rich cultural heritage of Scotland together. Today, the Tacoma Scots’ members carry the music, dance, and history of their Scottish ancestors, both real and adopted, into the community through their high quality performances in a wide variety of venues. In honor of our founding Pipe Major, the band wears the Sinclair tartan. The pipers wear the Ancient Sinclair (left), while the drummers wear the Hunting Sinclair (right)
